The State laws of Texas, Tennessee, Arkansas, Maryland, Mississippi, and the Carolinas require that one must affirm their belief in the existence of God or a Supreme Being in order to be eligible to hold any form of public office, or to be a witness in the court of law. This is a clear violation of the First Amendment and should be deemed unconstitutional and repealed immediately.
