Title VIII of the SAFE Port Act, passed in 2003, "prohibits gambling businesses from knowingly accepting payments in connection with the participation of another person in a bet or wager that involves the use of the Internet and that is unlawful under any federal or state law". Put simply what this means is that any gambling website cannot lawfully accept payment via the internet... It is every U.S. citizens right to spend their own money how they choose, provided it does not involve illegal activity. The government does not have the right to dictate which markets an individual chooses to spend their own capital on.
