On December 31, 2011, President Obama signed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), codifying indefinite military detention without charge or trial into law for the first time in American history. These dangerous detention provisions within the NDAA authorize the president — and all future presidents — the power to order the military to arrest and indefinitely detain American citizens without a search warrant, charges, trial, judge, or jury.
This law violates the Constitution, Habeas Corpus, the Rule of Law, and the freedoms of the American People.
We hereby petition the Federal Government to repeal the highly controversial indefinite detention provisions of the 2012 NDAA. We ask that the government respect and protect our freedom.
