We, the undersigned are writing to urge you to introduce new legislation to repeal the unconstitutional ban on misdemeanor ex domestic violence offenders' right to bear arms. (The Lautenberg Amendment) Felony domestic violence ex-offenders can petition and have their civil rights restored. They may then purchase guns. Misdemeanor ex-offenders are banned from gun ownership for life. This amendment not only weakens the Second Amendment: it also makes no sense. Please address this issue by re-introducing H.R.276 introduced by Mr. Goode in 2003, or write new legislation to repeal this "law" with haste, and help strengthen the security of our nation.
