Uniformed Services Former Spouses' Protection Act is a unfair system that allows for spouses that divorce service memebers awards in Courts division of military retirement pay as property. This is unfair as many spouses names were not on any contract, or did not contribute to the marriage monetarily over a career yet are enabled by the court system to claim a soldiers retirement as property. Spouses are not eligible for a retirement from the military as the spouse did not complete the required Service for the benefit. This system needs to be revised to protect a military memebers retirement in the event of divorce, yet retain benefits for enforcement of child support and other circumstances such as these. Military Retirement's and VA benefits are property of the Military member only.
