The Patriot Act enacted as a knee jerk reaction to the events of 911 openly violates the 4th, 5th, 7th, 8th, and in general Due Process. The Patriot Act when exploited toward the Legal US Citizens would be interpreted in other countries as oppressive and in direct violations of civil rights. The Patriot ACt has become the catch all for intrusion into Law Abiding Citizen's lives. The use of National Security Letters to secretly obtain Electronic Data from Cell Phones, Internet Web sites and other formats directly violate the 5th & 6th Amendment. The Patriot Act when directed toward Non US Citizens might have value, but, not on the backs of law abiding, legal US Citizens.
