This petition is created for the purpose of showing the administration that the American people no longer support or want the unnecessary piece of legislation that is the Patriot Act. The people who support this stance should believe that the government doesn't have the right to strip away the rights of average American citizens even in the name of security. If this petition reaches the appropriate number of signatures I would like the administration to at the very least consider limiting the powers that the patriot act grants the government. No branch of government should be allowed to function without regulations in place to protect the people.
