Under 7 USC 2204g, those contacted by the USDA as suspected farmers are required to complete a 'census' of agricultural products on their suspected farm. The law also imposes the threat of fines for non-participation. This law is outside the enumerated powers of the federal government and does not inherently involve interstate commerce, therefore it is entirely unconstitutional. The only possible reason the USDA might want to gather this information is for the illegal seizure of land, crops, and livestock from farmers when the federal government decides that there is a national emergency. This is yet another re-distribution of the wealth type program to rob hard-working farmers to appease the masses when votes are needed by the politicians who are doing the seizing.
