Please do something about the egregiously discriminatory features of the current laws affecting retired teachers who worked in classrooms of states that have provisions in the Social Security law that treats these retirees in an incredibly unfair way. i am the spouse of such a retired Connecticut teacher. Even though my wife earned the necessary quarters by her work outside of public education in Connecticut she will be DENIED any of my Social Security benefits should I predecease her. This is flagrantly wrong and needs to be addressed on behalf of many Americans who devoted their professional careers to our children.
