Repeal the Windfall Elimination Provision and Government Pension Offset provisions.

The Government Pension Offset and the Windfall Provision Act (WEP-GPO) unfairly penalizes citizens who have fully paid into the Social Security System by reducing their benefits by approximately 50% because they are or will be, receiving a government pension. These provisions penalize our teachers, firefighters, police officers and some Federal employees in fifteen states. Not only does it reduce the benefits due to these workers, but in turn the spouses of these employees have their benefits cut in HALF even further just by virtue of being married to this category of worker. Federal workers such as those who worked at Navy Shipyards were NEVER TOLD their Social Security would be reduced until it was too late to do anything about it. Please repeal these unfair laws
