This petition is to request the repeal of the Windfall Elimination provision of the Social Security Act. The Windfall Elimination provision is stealing money from Americans and their employers who have paid into the Social Security system for the required quarters by denying full Social Security benefits if they are receiving a pension from an entity that did not pay into Social Security. The intent of the provision was Congress' way of leveling the retirement income across American. Retirees who worked in both the private sector paying into social security and in the public sector for agencies that did not pay social security are having their social security contributions and those paid by their private sector employers decimated. These retirees are being penalized for working 2 jobs.
