Our record in Latin America since the dawn of the "Monroe Doctrine" has been an utter disgrace and a betrayal of all of the stated ideals of this country.
We need to make an absolute break with it, and agree that, from now on, Latin America's future should be decided by the people of Latin America themselves, with the right to put THEIR own interests first.
Latin America was never supposed to be OUR empire.
