replace all expiring Generation II nuclear reactor power plants with Liquid Fluoride Thorium reactors.

Created by E.B. on June 05, 2013

Current Generation II nuclear power plant reactors have far exceeded their designed lifespan of 30-40 years but these have been extended despite improved technologies and known issues with current nuclear power. Liquid Fluoride Thorium Reactors (aka Molten-Salt Reactors) is a known technology with a higher energy yield, cheap fuel source, safer, and has more reliable feedback mechanisms to prevent meltdowns. Thorium also produces much less waste and is less radioactive for a shorter period. Thorium is also cheap and much more available as a fuel source which can be gathered domestically and easily. Other countries are also starting to switch over to use thorium.
