Jackson simply does not deserve his place on the $20 bill. The reasons for this are numerous, but here are just a few:
- Jackson acted to his own accord without regard of the checks and balances on his power by the other by the Judiciary and Legislative branches of government.
-Jackson was a racist.
-Jackson is thought to have been an adulterer.
-Clay brought the nation together in times of great crises, championing not only one, but two compromises that helped postpone the Civil War.
We, as sensible American citizens that see Jackson for what he is, petition the Obama administration to consider removing a backward racist from the $20 bill and replacing him with the Great Compromiser, Henry Clay.
