President Andrew Jackson is one of the most controversial figures in American history. His use of the federal government to commit what we would today call crimes against humanity towards the Native Americans is nothing short of deplorable.
President Jackson's continuing prejudice towards the Native Americans was furthered through the Indian Removal Act that propagated an intense disrespect of a group which did not deserve any disrespect at all. Unfortunately, President Jackson was successful, culminating this removal with more oppression and violence towards the Native Americans.
Therefore, the American people request that this prejudiced figure be removed from the national currency, a symbol of American might, and be replaced with a more admirable figure of positive merit.
