As expertly noted in Slate (http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/politics/2014/03/andrew_...) U.S. President Andrew Jackson is a singularly inappropriate and outdated choice to be represented on U.S. currency. A former slave trader, he opposed a central bank (which now issues that currency) & was instrumental in population removal and mass death among several Native American nations.
It would be a far better choice, as Jillian Keenan notes, to honor Harriet Tubman. Born in modest circumstances, as Jackson was, she was a pioneer in American civil rights history, fighting not only to end slavery (even serving in the Civil War), but giving women the franchise.
Her face deserves to grace the $20 bill.
