Seeing the horrific atrocities that Cristobal Colon (Christopher Columbus) enacted on native peoples, such as the Taino people, the United States President should make it his business to eliminate this celebration of a propagator of genocide and slavery. Instead, the day should be used to commemorate the rich heritage and tragic oppression that Native peoples have lived through and continue to live with to this day.
