The celebration of Christopher Columbus is a national ignominy, and is not consistent with the ideals of liberty championed by The Declaration of Independence and The Constitution of the United States of America. No Federal holiday should bear the namesake of the man whose crimes against humanity – terror, rape, and genocide – served as the catalyst of transatlantic African slave trade.
Accordingly, the Administration should seek for Congress to:
1. Eliminate "Columbus Day" from the Federal holiday register; and,
2. Establish an earlier date for "Election Day," to be the second Tuesday of October.
Let us cease advancing the sordid, false narrative that pervades Christopher Columbus.
Let us champion the noble and civic duty that is voting, and seek to maximize electoral participation.
