Replace Columbus Day with Women's Suffrage Day.

Created by J.T. on January 21, 2013

Dear Mr. President and Members of Congress,
It is time that America honors the many women who helped get the 19th Amendment passed by having a Women's Suffrage Day. Replacing Columbus Day with a Women's Suffrage Day would honor our Native American sisters and brothers as well. This change would show our World we will no longer honor this violent man that did not discover America.

Honoring these women is the right thing to do. Their tenacity to overcome their opposition's threats and violence deserves recognition. It would also send a message that women do matter and their voices are being heard and counted.

Thank you for your time. My hope is that you will really take this petition into consideration.
