Restructure the Personal Income Tax to combines all Federal Taxes into a single comprehensive rate.
The Federal Government currently taxes workers three different times (Income Tax, Social Security, and Medicare), although only the Personal Income Tax is considered when discussing tax burdens.
1. Let all persons who are subject to the tax code contribute the Medicare/Medicaid and Social Security portion as prescribed by current law as their base Tax Rate.
2. At an income level to be determined, (perhaps twice the poverty level) the progressive portion begins.
3.. Tax rates could be progressive and include many steps, with a final step not to exceed 25%.
6. All forms of income would be taxed regardless of source.
