The electoral college should be replaced because it makes voter turnout lower, and makes people feel like their vote doesn't count. For example, one may want to vote republican, but their state always votes democrat so they feel as if there's no point to vote because their vote won't go towards the republican candidate. We vote to tell the state how we want it to vote, but it's merely a suggestion as the electoral college voters do NOT have to vote as the citizens want them to. If it was a district system, most regions have similar political ideology, so their voices would be heard and distinct from the other districts. If we replaced the electoral college, voter turnout would be higher and people's votes would actually count.
