Fahrenheit is the most commonly used scale for temperature in the United States, but the Fahrenheit scale is NOT a ratio scale. Fahrenheit is merely an interval scale. Always knowing how far the air's temperature is from absolute zero has obvious benefits.
A cold day is 0° F and it's 255° K. Wouldn't hearing "It's 255 degrees" make you feel warmer?
A hot day is 100° F and it's 311° K. Wouldn't saying "It's 311 degrees!" better express how sweltering it is out there?
