E pluribus unum, Latin for "From Many, One", appears on the seal of the United States. It was an unofficial motto of the country until a law was passed in 1956 making the motto "In God We Trust".
This motto was chosen as a direct response to the rise of Communism in Europe and Asia.
Communism has largely been consigned to the dustbin of history, and as such we should restore, officially, our unofficial motto.
E pluribus unum encompasses all citizens of our great nation, including those of different faiths, or none. E pluribus unum better suits our unique nature of many states coming together to create the United States of America.
E pluribus unum includes all Americans, Christian, Jew, Muslim, or athiest, "from many, one" does not discriminate or separate our nation.
