Just because there might exist a "role for religion in the public square" as stated in earlier responses, doesn't mean that an endorsement of a religion or lack of religion is constitutionally right. We live in a nation that promises that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion", yet congress clearly did when they made "In God we Trust" our national motto. By having our motto as "In God we Trust" the United States Government is implying that WE THE PEOPLE put our trust in God, when not all people believe in his existence. Please do what is constitutionally right and seek the needed legislation to change this breach on religious freedom and the right to be free from religion as well.
