We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Replace highways with solar panels

Created by J.F. on August 11, 2016

Replacing highways infastructure with solar panels is beneficial in many ways. An increase in energy production is the most prominent. We can create highways that no longer need painting using led lights with panels to direct traffic. Easy to maintain yet powerful enough to support semi trucks, solar highways provide the same traction as asphalt. Solar highways would make transportation safer in poor weather conditions with the ability to heat ice and snow. Solar highways also have the capability to capture excessive water on the road preventing hydroplaning and flash floods. With many benifits and very few issues with solar highways our government should start taking steps to upgrade and repair the declining infastructure of the nation, to a technology that serves a dual purpose.
