Replace Joseph Boardman as head of Amtrak and reinstate the Pioneer and Desert Wind to the Western States.

Created by A.P. on April 07, 2013

in 1997 Amtrak discontinued rail service to Southern Idaho,Southern Utah,Wyoming,Northern Colorado, and Oregon with the closure of two of its Class 1 passenger lines The Pioneer and the Desert Wind. all of these closures were enforced by Joe Boardman when he became the head of Amtrak in 2008. Boardman knows nothing about railroading since his appointment he has done nothing to improve Amtrak and always says congress does not give him the funds for projects like reinstating these routes complaining Amtrak is low on equipment and ridership. THIS IS A BIG FAT LIE! Boardman is a bureaucrat and like all bureaucrats has done nothing but sit in his office and boast about Amtrak's success when it is doomed to failure. Please Obama fire Boardman and move these routes forward.
