The petition I propose is not to bring down Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, but to highlight two of the best candidates that have been overlooked. Ray Lewis, linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens, has been a staple since 1996 and won two NFL Defensive Player of the Year awards in 2000 and 2006. He has one Super Bowl under his belt, along with 13 Pro Bowls. The other choice would be Michael Jordan, who, near the end of the Soviet Union, won an NBA Defensive Player of the Year. He has six NBA Championships and doubles as one of the top scorers and passers to have ever played the game. Both players are leaders in and out of the game they play, and they tend to make those around them better. It would be a travesty to overlook such capable candidates. Please consider my request!
