I feel that in order best deal with our large government debt without burdening the American tax payer is to get rid of the national income tax and to put in its place a national sales tax of 3% per purchase on all items that are brought and all services that are consumed with the expectation of any food, water, or clothing items under $50.
Right now, less then 1/2 of all Americans pay a income tax. The income tax was a good idea back in the early industrial era, but we don't produce as much products as we used to. Workers don't collect as large of a income. We are a consumer base economy, and in order to lower the burden for all, we need to tax national consumption instead of national production. This will help stimulate the economy by encouraging production & lower our debt & add jobs.
