We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Replace the official portrait of J. Dennis Hastert with a painting of a black curtain stating that he was imprisoned.

Created by J.G. on June 22, 2016

I think Congress should replace his official portrait with a painting of a black curtain or shroud that says "Hic Est Locvs Ioanne Marcvs Hastert Incarceratvs Pro Criminibvs" (This space reserved for John Dennis Hastert, imprisoned for his crimes). This would be in keeping with historical precedent like in Venice where a Doge who was beheaded for his crimes had his official portrait removed and replaced with a black shroud with similar words. It will send a message to all members of Congress that crime will not be tolerated and your memory will not endure.
