This amendment to the constitution would eliminate the use of ethnic classifications for governmental purposes. Since all men are created equal and are provided equal protection under the law, there is no need to classify ethnicities of Americans. Only first generation immigrants, who by definition, are born in another country and move to the U.S., would be classified in this regard. Their children are natural born citizens and considered Americans. This would impact current employment practices by the government, criminal justice practice, census procurement, social services practice, and many other facilities of the U.S. government.
