Net Neutrality has now been dismantled within the U.S. Federal Communications Commission despite multiple attempts to pass such laws having been shot down by the people. The rules have been changed to allow corporations to control access to internet services to such a degree that they may freely choose to silence detractors through throttled bandwidth, effectively killing many sites and businesses. This is a clear violation of the First Amendment as this rule change equates to a branch of the government empowering a company with the right to abridge the freedom of speech by killing traffic to the sites of individual citizens as mentioned above, infringe on the freedom of the press in the same way, interfering with the right to peacefully assemble on or through social media.
