In this day and age, it is unjustifiable and unethical to pretend that there exists a "God", and that Christianity is a valid belief. Clearly there is a political motivation to do so, but this is detrimental to the Nation. While it would be a politically bold stance, it is in the interest of the People to encourage them to become critical thinkers. It is hypocritical to emphasize the United States as a leader of education, science and technology while over half of its population believes in ancient legends. Other countries look down on the U.S for this. Religion is used to generate so much hatred in this country (gay rights, abortion, women's health) while the benefits and community aspects of religion do not require the existence of a deity. There is no evidence in support of a god.
