Repurpose Sandy Hook Elementary School as a Peace Museum

Created by J.J. on May 10, 2013

The Sandy Hook Building Task Force has recommended tearing down the Sandy Hook Elementary School. I respectfully suggest that it be transformed into a federal museum, remembering our nation's victims of violence and a place where experts could look into solutions to promote peace, civility and respectful dialogue. It would be a place where there's genuine discussion about the factors that make violence such a problem in our nation. The museum would simply provide factual data. Rather than hype, there would be documented facts that people could take away and discuss rationally. Displays would discuss both issues of violence and examples of our nation's history of advocating peace. Keep Sandy Hook as a reminder that we have a serious problem in this country, that we can't just bulldoze over.
