Request that Congress amend the language of the 2nd Amendment to the US Constitution to clarify its intent.

Created by E.C. on December 14, 2012

The language of Article II to the US Constitution, more commonly referred to as the second amendment, has been the subject of constant interpretive debate since its adoption by Congress in 1790. Is it the militia, the individual, or both that has the right to bear arms? The original and current language is simply not clear about this. This petition asks the administration to request Congress to take up the challenge of clarifying its language, once and for all, and in so doing amend the second amendment to make its intent clear to all that read it.
