...request the Congress pass a law for a Federal Holiday known as National Only Child Day observed annually on April 12.

The purpose of this petition is to spur the Obama administration to push the Congress to establish as a day of celebration and jubilation, a National Only Child Day, to recognize the millennia of historic struggle of this much maligned group of people. The day recommended is April the 12th, which is already an unofficial day observed by only children and their friends and families. The contribution of only children to the development of the human race is manifold and to this day remains unappreciated. Now is the time that their contribution finally receives its just due.
