We urge the White House to review the US-Colombia Free Trade agreement and to request Congress to repeal its provisions. We ask the White House to take this step in order to withdraw support for the Colombian government due to its inability to ensure human rights standards for its society, particularly for its labor organizers.
The free trade agreement, as it stands, encourages the Colombian state to ignore paramilitary violence, resulting in increased killings of union organizers and human rights defenders.
Against this agreement, we assert: No free trade without human rights guarantees!
