Request Congress/Supreme Court alter the Affordable Care Act to allow tax credits to go to those below the poverty line.

Created by A.E. on September 22, 2014

The Affordable Care Act as it stands does not allow for tax credits or cost sharing for those that fall below the Federal Poverty Line. This means that in the states that did not expand Medicaid there is little to no health care options for those below the poverty line. For example, a single mother of two working full time at minimum wage will receive no assistance paying for health care through the Affordable Care Act, whereas she might have 75-85% paid for if she made $0.50 (fifty cents) an hour more. By altering the law so that the Advanced Premium Tax Credit and possible cost sharing reductions are available to ALL people up to 400% of the poverty line, rather than 100%-400%, then the most in need of help may receive it while still paying part of the costs themselves.
