The organization known as Isil or Daesh are often referred to as Islamic extremists, as Sunni Muslims, and as adherents to "Salafi" Islam. They are in fact none these things, but are a sect that formed after the death of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, called the Kharwarij or "Kharijiites". These kharjites held identical beliefs to modern day Isil, and Sunni scholars are unanimous in ruling Daesh and those like them as Kharwarij, not Sunni or Salafi, but a deviant offshoot of early Islam. It is time the govt. consult Sunni Islamic Scholars, determine their consensus, and make the appropriate changes to the language used by the Administration.
