Request Department of Education to analyze Alabama House 84 and respond. GOP violation.

Created by K.F. on June 08, 2013

Alabama House Bill 84 essentially takes public funds from already struggling public schools to provide funds and tax credits for wealthy families, mostly whites, to provide incentives for children in private schools. However, millions more will be extracted from public education dollars because this law does not address homeschoolers, Christian schools, and other non-public school institutions(k-12) in Alabama. Using the "failing schools" paradigm was constructed by charter schools advocates ignoring progress and successes of public schools. HB84 damages mostly black and poor white families in Alabama creating more seperate and unequal access to the highest quality education. School employees and students hurt by this bill significantly.
