The NBA playoffs are a truly great time of the year for sports fans across the country. Very few things can mar the prospect of watching dozens of high quality basketball games over the course of the next few months. Unfortunately, one of those things is having to hear head-ache inducing, bubble gum hip-hop/pop in a promo played heading into and out of each commercial break. All told, ESPN is asking viewers to risk exposing themselves to "Timber" around a dozen times a game. When ABC/ESPN broadcasts up to four games a day, viewers are being subjected to Pitbull exposures at a truly dangerous level.
We hope the President, as the nations most powerful hoops fan, can use his influence to convince ABC/ESPN to either completely desist or severely curtail the song's use. We can do better.
