Brazil is set to host the next FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) World Cup in 2014. However, recent crimes such as the beheading of a referee by fans at an amateur soccer match, have shown that the nation is not ready to host such a globally popular event. With fans from the United States, as well as many other nations traveling to Brazil to watch the World Cup, safety will be an overwhelming concern. The many competing teams, and the millions of spectators should not have to worry about safety at such a globally unifying event, only second to the olympics. Amid safety concerns, FIFA should relocate the 2014 World Cup to a nation deemed safe for the teams and spectators.
