Request to Free Bekele Gerba and over 20, 000 oromo prisoners of conscience

Created by B.A. on November 19, 2012

Ethiopia has been prison house of its own citizens for about half a century. Since current government of Ethiopia has assumed power for over 20 years, thousands of oromos have been excuted and thousands are languishing in Ethiopian prison. While it is not my intention to educate you about Oromo people at the horn of Africa as I strongly believe that you have enough information on the issue. Over 20, 000 prisoners in Ethiopia are oromos and they make over 90 % of ethiopian prison population. Bekele Gerba and Olbana Lelisa are one of them. They did not do anything wrong, but expressed their voice about blatant discrimination against their people, the oromo people. Therefore, I plead with your administration to put pressure on ethiopian government to free these innocent people, the oromos.
