We see no reason why our Senators and Congressmen are not furloughed. They do such little constructive work to start with. We feel that they should lead by example and introduce self-imposed furloughs for both them and their teams.
We request, in particular, that Senators and Congressmen/congresswomen do 20% less work and take a 20% paycut. We request leaders in the executive branch also perform 20% less work and take a 20% paycut. Let's spread the suffering across to those who are actually culpable for this mess and not selectively penalize our brethren work happen to work for the DoD (who, face it, actually keep you guys safe, rich, and fat).
