Request the House, Senate, and Executive Branch refrain from labeling the United States a Democracy when it is a Republc

Created by J.S. on November 17, 2012

Nowhere in the Declaration of Independence, The Bill of Rights, or the US Constitution was our newly formed government referred to as a "Democracy". The Founding Fathers despised the concept of Democracy as it represents Mob Rule where hypothetically 51% could vote to inflict whatever dictates they so choose on the other 49%.

The United States was formed as a Constitutional Republic where the individual's natural rights could not be violated by anyone. It is the governments job to make sure these natural rights are not infringed upon. Our Public Servants should be made aware of these differences and make sure they do not misrepresent and cheapen the integrity of this great nation by referring to it's Rule of Law as Democracy in any way, shape or form. This is an insult to our country
