Request that NASA bring the the 1974 "worm" logotype out of retirement.

Created by L.H. on March 07, 2014

In 1974, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration introduced a logotype designed by the design studio of Danne & Blackburn as part of the Federal Graphics Improvement Program.

This professionally-designed logo—known colloquially as the "worm"—evokes a forward-looking and futuristic spirit. Reviving it would demonstrate both the President's and NASA's commitment to exceptional graphic design, and with such bold and exciting missions ahead, NASA would be well-served by giving the "worm" a place of prominence on current and future spacecraft.

President Obama's administration has a perfect opportunity to bring such a highly-revered design program back from retirement, given its reputation for employing great design itself. Help revive an American design icon!
