There is no procedural requirement for the out-going President to attend an inauguration. Therefore: based on Mr. Trump's campaign of racial, ethnic, and religious divisiveness; based on Mr. Trump's selection of strategic and intelligence advisors who are documented to be anti-Jewish and anti-Muslim; based on the economic, social, medical, and environmental dangers Mr. Trump's stated goals will rain on the American people; we ask that President Obama not attend the inauguration. We ask that President Obama not participate in a cermony that transfers America to a presidency whose intent is to weaken laws and regulations that support "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" for millions of Americans. We ask Barack Obama, as President, to stand up for American values one last time.
