This petition is in response to veterans claims in which are taking an average of more than two years to adjudicate claims in which injuries, both physical and mental, were suffered as a result of service to the United States.
Senior officials in charge of regional offices throughout the United States and its territories as well as the Veterans Affairs Secretary have failed to meet the timetables set forth by the Department. Because of this, the Veterans Affairs Secretary as well as regional department heads should be requested to resign effective immediately. In addition, until all veterans claims are adjudicated within 180 days (original and appeals), these positions should be termed to no more than 1 year in length, unless they successfully get claims to 180 days or less.
