Yemen permits marriage to female children which has resulted in their death after intercourse on the "marriage night". Two famous incidents involve an 8 year old girl to a 40 year old man in 2013 and a 13 year old to a man twice her age this year.
Under the Yemen understanding of Sharia Law, it is lawful to wed a child of 8 years and 7 months.
In the United States of America, this is a Felony Crime. The marriage, the intercourse, and the death of the child are all chargeable offenses which in many states would be concluded with the death penalty.
Although I do not believe the USA should dictate how other countries operate, we CAN and MUST tell the world what we find unacceptable.
Sever all ties with Yemen until their constitution protects all and provides equality for 5 years.
