We respectfully request that the United States Government ban civilian ownership of, possession of, sale of, and use of semi automatic weapons and high capacity magazines within the United States.
We understand that the 2nd amendment to our Constitution does not guarantee anyone in this country to hold or own either a semi automatic weapon or a weapon of mass destruction.
We understand that the semi automatic weapon has only one purpose and that is to kill a large number of people in the shortest possible time.
We would like to see potential victims of gun violence given a fighting chance to survive, without having to join in the personal arms race. We feel that banning semi automatic weapons and high capacity magazines is a step in that direction.
