Require airports to offer recycling receptacles throughout their terminals, primarily at security checkpoints.

Created by R.H. on January 01, 2015

According to the Container Recycling Institute, more than 60 million water bottles end up in landfills each day. And with nearly 1.8 million airline passengers passing through TSA checkpoints every day, you can imagine how many might toss their water bottles into the trash can before making it through security. Travelers are discarding newspapers, soda cans, coffee cups and other recyclable Municipal Solid Waste throughout the terminal every minute. A majority of airports do not offer recycling options and by placing recycling receptacles throughout each terminal, especially at security checkpoints, we can reduce waste and increase sustainability with a more green approach to airline travel.
